Working in the Nuclear Industry – Advanced Manufacturing & Nuclear Challenge Opportunities

University of Derby will be delivering the below workshop, to organisations, in partnership with Rolls Royce, Nuclear Collaboration (formally Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre), and UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), providing information around the nuclear industry and how organisations can potentially pivot the work they are doing to access an exciting future in nuclear.

This workshop will be delivered using a variety of presentations and speakers, with a maximum of 50 individuals able to attend due to room size and catering. The bookings for this workshop will be on a first come first served basis due to expected demand.

The final agenda for the workshop will be sent out following registration to the event and will include timings for each of the presentations, but will be centred around the below topics:

  • 09:00-09:30 – Networking and Refreshments
  • Session 1 presentations – The Nuclear Landscape, Skills Demand in the Sector, Digital Engineering Tools
  • Session 2 presentations – Capability of Nuclear Plant Applications, How to Win Work in Nuclear, Human Factors & Ergonomics
  • Networking & Lunch (provided for attendees of the event)
  • Session 3 presentations – Safety in the workplace, final presentation from UKAEA.
