We are delighted to host a special briefing event for Rail Forum members on the draft Rail Reform Bill.
During this 45 minute session you will hear from senior colleagues from the DfT’s Rail Transformation Programme Directorate and the Great British Railways Transition Team. There will be plenty of time for Q&A.
In order to enable as many members to attend as possible and, to avoid travelling for what is a relatively short briefing session, this event will be hosted on MS Teams.
Government published the draft bill on 20 February and it is now subject to a scrutiny process being led by the Transport Select Committee. The intention of the bill is to bring track and train together through the creation of a new body that will be responsible for managing the rail infrastructure and for letting passenger service contracts (taking over the current franchising authority from the Secretary of State). It represents the biggest upheaval for the sector since privatisation over 30 years ago.
Bookings will close on Friday 15th March and joining information will be sent via email on 18th March.
Please note this event is for Rail Forum members only.
