As Alstom’s exclusive provider of temporary workers across the UK, Shorterm are hosting an event to engage with employers who are seeking to tap into a specialist and highly sought after talent pool and potentially provide candidates with new opportunities.

You may have seen from local media reports that a number of highly skilled and qualified workers from the engineering industry are coming onto the job market in the coming months. This is partially as a result of the current production gap at Alstom’s train manufacturing facility at Litchurch Lane in Derby. Key suppliers that Shorterm also provide temporary workers too, Motherson and Paintbox, will also have skilled workers becoming available as a result.

Many of the candidates becoming available have undergone a variety of specialist engineering training courses which, for past few years, has been a key factor in Alstom’s success on delivering the UK’s largest train production programme for a generation. Not only have Shorterm successfully sourced and placed the workers with Alstom, but we have also provided bespoke training solutions which have been pivotal to the success of the build. This specialist workforce has a wide range of skills across fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication, Paint, Warehouse and Materials, Quality, Leadership, Supply Chain and Procurement.
