In the second ‘Asia supply chains’ series in-market experts provide insights and guidance for aerospace, defence, and security companies looking to strengthen their supply chain operations between Europe and India.
Improving the resilience of global supply chains has rapidly become a top priority for manufacturing businesses. For companies in the Defence, Aerospace, and Security sector, it’s even more imperative to align manufacturing capabilities/supply chain operations to future markets. Within Asia, India offers a unique opportunity both as a manufacturing location and as a large market looking to modernise and upgrade its assets.
With the third highest defence spending in the world, India is embarking on a major defence, aerospace, and maritime upgrade with a focus on ‘Make in India’ and is already attracting international companies, including aerospace and defence giants BAE, Rolls-Royce, and MBDA, to make India a key part of their global manufacturing operation. Defence exports from India jumped 334% in the last five years and this trend is set to continue going forwards, with both public and private sector enterprises contributing to this manufacturing renaissance.
In collaboration with ADS, we’re pleased to bring together domain specialists and experienced industry professionals from India to share their expertise on this topic and provide a practical overview on how companies can create manufacturing capabilities in India as part of their diversification strategy/‘Make in India’ obligations.
ADS is a national trade body in the UK with more than 1,100 members and represents the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security, and Space sectors. ADS Group Ltd. also owns the subsidiary Farnborough International Limited (FIL), which runs the Farnborough International Airshow.
