We are delighted to bring this spotlight on Wales online session with speakers from Transport for Wales and Cogitamus.
We will begin the session with an update from Mark Walker of Cogitamus. Mark will be looking briefly at:
- reflections on the scale of devolution through the pandemic and
- doing business in Wales if you’re not used to it,
We will then hear from Alex Fortune from Transport for Wales with an update on their activity.
Transport for Wales was established in 2016 as a not for profit, private company owned by the Welsh Government to provide support and expertise in connection with transport projects in Wales. In 2017, it procured the new Operator and Development Partner for the Wales & Borders railway franchise. This franchise is now 18 months old, and despite the current challenges, is committed to transforming rail services and infrastructure across Wales. The presentation will provide an overview of the franchise, it’s structure and transformation plans .
About Alex Fortune
Alex recently joined Transport for Wales, after 20 years in the industry, as the Rail Project Sponsor North. This role entails engaging with clients and the implementation teams to ensure the successful delivery of enhancement schemes. Previous experience in rail planning and project management for Atkins, Department for transport, Department for International Trade and Racon.
