All rail industry professionals are invited to join us at the NSAR 2023 Skills Symposium. This year’s theme is all about delving into the ever-evolving skills landscape and discovering practical solutions to building rail skills.
The event will include three industry case studies and a keynote speech by Mandy Hickson.
Mandy was the first woman to fly the Tornado GR4 on the front line, amassing over thirty years of experience within aviation and completing three tours of duty. Since leaving the RAF she retrained as a facilitator and coach in human factors. She has a wealth of experience to share on decision-making, communication, leadership, behaviour, conflict, fatigue, stress management and working in a male-dominated environment.
Joshua Brear, Fleet Competence Manager at East Midlands Railway, will be joining us to talk all things Competency Management and what it means for East Midlands Railway.
Lydia Fairman BEM FCIPD, Head of Capability and Skills Development at Network Rail, will provide an update on actions to address the future of skills in rail – including the thinking and approach to the whitepaper for rail, outcomes from a recent feasibility study and other industry insights.
Rob Forde, Director of Strategy and Skills at the Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE), will give an overview of GCRE’s purpose-built site for world-class research, testing and certification of rolling stock, infrastructure and innovative rail technologies, and the GCRE’s strategic approach to skills.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to share and expand your skills and workforce insights, and connect with fellow rail industry experts.
