HS2 is the biggest infrastructure project in UK history. How can the Midlands extract the greatest benefit from this £50bn venture?
With confirmation of the route through the region, and building work starting in 2017, Insider is looking at the impact this giant project will have on the Midlands-wide economy. We’re bringing together leaders from transport, business, developers, the civic sphere and education to give you an insight on how the entire region, and your business, can benefit.
Delegates will be given the chance to quiz those at the top table on how they’ll ensure the region makes the most of the biggest transport infrastructure investment in more than a century.
Among the issues the session will look at are:
- Where will the railway stop, and which hubs will it connect with?
- What are the timelines and key stages in HS2’s development?
- What changes and investment need to be made to the transport infrastructure to ensure the entire region benefits?
- What are the direct opportunities for business in getting involved in HS2?
- What will it mean for inward investment?
- What will HS2 mean for development?
- What are the skills issues involved in meeting this huge project?
