This event will take place online.

The “Invest 2035” green paper, issued in October 2024, is a consultation document seeking views on the Government’s plans to establish a Modern Industrial Strategy for the UK. It sets out the case for identifying and supporting a number of priority sectors that can drive UK economic growth. See our one page briefing note here.

The document identifies 8 growth-driving sectors based on existing and emerging strengths; one of these is advanced manufacturing.

A key role of Rail Forum is to respond to Government consultations on behalf of members; ensuring your voice is heard and feeding in your suggestions and concerns about proposed policies. To do this effectively we need to listen to your views! The creation of a new Industrial Strategy was a key manifesto pledge of the new Government; it will form the basis of a number of Government priorities for the next 10 years. It is therefore vital our members’ views are heard.

This 60 minute session will seek feedback from our manufacturing members on the key relevant questions posed in the consultation document. It is important that members wishing to provide feedback do take time to read and understand the full consultation document which can be found here.

Topic areas/questions that we want to cover during the session will be issued with joining information on Friday 1st November.

Members that are unable to attend the session are encouraged to contact elaine@railforum.uk to provide their feedback.
