We are delighted to confirm our next Rail Freight Day in association with the Rail Freight Group will be held on 16th March 2023. This will be our 4th joint ‘rail freight day’ and will be held in Peterborough.
In the Plan for Rail (Williams-Shapps Plan) Government committed to setting a rail freight growth target and with constrained investment in the mainline railway in the short-term, freight is regarded as a key opportunity to drive reduced carbon emissions from road transport.
This event will update members on progress towards setting a target following their call for evidence in 2022. It will identify some of the key growth opportunities and challenges to delivery together with the potential supply chain opportunities that support rail freight growth.
Hear speakers from Rail Freight Group, GBR TT, Network Rail, Midlands Connect, Nuclear Transport Solutions, AB Ports and Clayton Equipment.
We are delighted that Clayton Equipment and Innovate UK EDGE will be Event Partners.
“The rail freight network is an integral part of the logistics of major UK companies and makes a huge contribution to reducing carbon emissions.
To hit national decarbonisation targets and achieve net-zero, we must all invest in rail freight.
That’s why this Rail Forum Conference in association with the Rail Freight Group to discuss the opportunities for Growing Freight for the Future is so important and I look forward to meeting with you on the day.”
Clive Hannaford, MD, Clayton Equipment
Open to Rail Forum and Rail Freight Group members only
Bookings close 7th March at 5.00pm. Joining information will be sent out on 9th March.
