The pivotal and critical activity of railway depots are often overlooked for the ‘sexy’ rolling stock or complex major infrastructure projects and we are delighted to bring depots to the forefront with this exciting new event.
Traversing both infrastructure and rolling stock depots, this event will bring both worlds together for exciting insights and interesting debate.
Programme
This varied programme of speakers will provide insights into existing challenges, newly completed projects, optimisation opportunities as well as highlighting the many ways that depots can support on decarbonisation targets as well as insight on depots as we look forward to 2023 and beyond.

Site Visit
We are thrilled to further offer optional post networking lunch visits to either Canton Depot or Taffs Well Depot and provide members with the difficult choice of which visit they will choose. Note that delegates can only attend one tour (either Canton or Taffs Well).
As these are working depots please advise in advance if you have any mobility requirements and we will liaise with the depot/s to explore options.
PPE – Delegates wishing to participate in the tour, will be required to bring their own PPE: safety footwear, safety goggles and hi-vis upper body garment.

We encourage members across our rolling stock and infrastructure sectors to consider this event. Delegates with an interest in either rolling stock OR infrastructure depots, depot equipment, depot services, depot design, depot enhancements and improvements, innovation, decarbonisation solutions, digital solutions, safety solutions will all find this key event of interest.
Location and Travel
We encourage members to use train travel where possible to our events. This event venue has been selected because of its proximity to Cardiff Central Train station (just 5 minutes walk). Post event depot visits will have transfers provided taking delegates to and from the depot tour. Note that delegates can only attend one tour (either Canton or Taffs Well).

Rail Forum Members tickets
Members are encouraged to book up to TWO free places. If you wish to have additional places, please get in touch with Karen@railforum.uk This will be charged at £50 per ticket. We anticipate this event will be oversubscribed and will run a waiting list for any additional places.
Non-Member tickets
Non-Members are welcome to attend this event. We have allocated a small number of pay-for, non-member tickets. For individuals not familiar with Rail Forum events, we provide high quality events with expert speakers, issuing delegate lists with joining instructions in advance and programming effective networking breaks to allow delegates to gain maximum value for time and money.
