Building on the success of this year’s Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons the Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum will be holding a similar event in February of 2014. Hosted by Mid Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham OBE the event will bring together DDRF members, local MPs, members of both the Government and Shadow Transport teams as well as stakeholders from across the industry.
Colin Walton, Chairman of the DDRF said “There is an enormous interest in the world’s largest rail cluster in both Westminster and Whitehall. This is an opportunity for our members to meet Parliamentarians from all parties and explain how important the railway sector is, not just to the economy of the East Midlands, but also to UK PLC. We are particularly pleased that both the Secretary of State for Transport (Patrick McLoughlin) and Lilian Greenwood, the Shadow Minister of State for Transport, have already agreed to attend this event”.
DDRF members interested in registering for this event are invited to contact the Forum Co-ordinator Debbie Cook by emaildebbie.cook@derby.gov.uk
