The Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum’s annual conference is now firmly established as one of the major events in the railway industry’s calendar. Next year’s conference will take place on the 10th April 2014 and confirmed speakers include: Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin, Secretary of State for Transport; Clare Moriarty, Director General Rail at the Department for Transport; Martin Griffiths, CEO of Stagecoach Group; and Michael Roberts, Director General of ATOC. Several other key industry figures are due to confirm attendance in coming weeks.
Rupert Brennan Brown a spokesman for DDRF said “This is a key event for the local rail industry, and calibre of speakers shows just how highly the local supply chain is regarded by the wider rail industry. Our annual conference will take place just days into the new ‘Control Period’ which lasts five years and will see billions of pounds invested in improving the railways for both passenger and freight customers. This is a major opportunity for all those interested in the future of the railway network to understand what this massive level of investment will mean to both suppliers and users of Britain’s railway.”
