Andy Pyne appointed Unipart Chief Sustainability Officer

September 2024: Andy Pyne has been appointed Chief Sustainability Officer at Unipart, the supply chain solutions and performance improvement technologies partner.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting to Chief Executive Officer Darren Leigh, Andy is responsible for setting and delivering Unipart’s strategies for sustainability, facilities, security, and health and safety.

Unipart has a history of exceptional standards in these areas, having become the first organisation ever to be recognised with a world-class safety, wellbeing and sustainability ‘treble’ by the British Safety Council in 2023.

Andy joined Unipart more than 25 years ago and has worked across Unipart’s sectors in the logistics business in a number of leadership roles. Most recently Andy held a senior operations director role alongside a sustainability focus. The new appointment sees him become full-time Chief Sustainability Officer.

In 2023, Andy spearheaded Unipart’s validation of ambitious near-term and net-zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative.

Darren Leigh, Unipart Chief Executive Officer, said: “Unipart has made a commitment to be net zero by 2040 which will require increased leadership and focus, therefore I’m delighted to appoint Andy Pyne as full-time Chief Sustainability Officer. Andy will work across all areas of Unipart delivering synergies, economies of scale and efficiencies.

“Andy is passionate about the business and Unipart’s people, and creating a culture where everyone can give their best, serving our customers better than anyone else and committing to the safety and wellbeing of all colleagues and protection of the planet for them and all Unipart’s stakeholders.”

Andy Pyne, Unipart Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “Sustainability is deeply embedded in our culture at Unipart, driving long-term growth for employees, customers, suppliers and local communities.

“We have made a significant commitment in setting an ambitious net zero target with colleagues at every level working with a carbon conscious mindset.”
