We are thrilled to bring together Rail Forum members with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) plus Rail Delivery Group for this event which explores the opportunities in improving Railway performance.
The impact of poor performance hits every aspect of the railway. Damaging revenue from dissatisfied passengers and freight users and wasting resources and budget in failure and incident management, the knock-on effect of which leads to reduced funding available for innovation, renewals and enhancements. With control period funding under unprecedented pressure and the whole industry pressed to gain cost efficiencies, the cost of poor performance cannot be understated. Resolving poor performance, however, provides the industry with opportunity.
This session seeks to articulate industry priorities with respect to improving performance and will share best practice and funding opportunities that will help supply chain deliver better and more targeted innovation and project delivery. Understanding client requirements for CP7 and identifying funding sources will be key with specific focus on:
- Effects of poor performance
- How CP7 is seeking to improve performance
- The Rail Technical Strategy landscape
- What does good performance look like
- What behaviours and attributes are required for effective collaboration
- Successful delivery
- Routes to funding

The event will commence with key speakers and panel discussions around the topics identified, split into 3 sessions and followed by networking drinks.
