TVS Rail Spares is excited to announce that we will be launching the TVS Rail Spares Innovation Centre at Rail Live 2024 at Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre on 19-20th June.
To celebrate the first birthday since the launch of TVS Rail Spares, we wanted to do something a little different at the UK’s largest rail exhibition. In partnership with BCIMO, we’re showcasing four innovative SMEs on our stand, highlighting their exciting new products they are looking to launch into the rail market.
The TVS Rail Spares team will also be there to talk about the great benefits that buying from our One Stop Shop for Infrastructure material and to continue the growth of our service in the rail marketplace, which has seen more than 100 rail companies sign up for our online catalogue in the past year.

BCIMO
BCIMO is a not-for-profit Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) and operator of the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre (VLRNIC) – a unique, world-class centre for rail innovation based in Dudley in the West Midlands.
This £32m multi-purpose centre, situated at the heart of the Black Country, offers a range of hireable facilities including a Rail Development and Test Site, Engineering Laboratories and Equipment, Meeting and Event Spaces and Serviced Offices and Meeting Rooms.

AceOn
AceOn offer cell distribution, custom-built battery pack manufacturing, portable energy storage generators that use first and second life batteries, commercial and industrial/utility scale energy storage systems. AceOn will be showcasing and demonstrating a range of products which can replace fossil fuel generators.
AceOn also have a slot at Rail Live’s Green Workshop on Wednesday at 12:15pm to showcase battery generators from 2nd life batteries from Electric Vehicles.

ChangeMaker3D
ChangeMaker3D is bringing clean, green and fast 3D concrete printing into the rail industry. Their 3D concrete printing combines state-of-the-art robotics with print innovation, printing bespoke shapes that would not easily be created using traditional methods.
Rob Wilcock, Business Development & Account Director said: “We’re excited to have ChangeMaker3D showcasing on the TVS Rail Spares stand at Rail Live next week. They already work with some of our non-Rail partners including United Utilities, and the technology to 3D print concrete is a game changer for the construction industry for both sustainability and efficiency reasons.”
PowerUp
PowerUp has an innovative approach to replacing fossil fuel generators with battery PowerStations, leveraging AI algorithms to learn operator behaviours and predict precise battery discharge rates to facilitate just-in-time swapping with renewable energy-charged replacements. The company was established in 2021 with an aim to significantly reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.

Universal Signalling
Universal Signalling is developing the next generation of digital signalling. Their lab-demonstrated Universal Interlocking system is made of low-cost COTS components, which form modular, extensible and pre-assured building blocks containing all the rules of the route. Their digital signalling solution is robust, resilient and flexible, but most importantly, it is rapid and low-cost to deploy.
