Back by popular demand and following the huge success of our previous Introduction to the Rail Industry for armed forces leavers we are delighted to be hosting a fifth event in Derby on 11th September 2024.

The day will provide an opportunity for companies to have a small stand* enabling them to meet and network with a range of people who have recently left, or are planning their exit from, the UK’s armed forces and who are looking for new career opportunities. Attendees will include all ranks from the army, navy and air force and we are working closely with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP)  to promote the event to interested individuals. Previous events have typically attracted between 120-150 delegates.

Format for the day :

  • short welcome from one or two individuals who have made the transition to civilian life (15 minutes max)
  • open networking for individuals to chat informally to companies about the type of jobs they may have coming up and for them to identify the range of career opportunities potentially available. There is plenty of space for more in-depth, one to one conversations, with individuals about a specific role or opportunity.

Companies wishing to attend will need to make a small contribution to the cost of running this event (this will cover venue hire and lunch costs for all attendees).

  • Rail Forum members: £400 plus VAT  on a first come first served basis.
  • Non Rail Forum members: £500 plus VAT
  • Rail Forum Patron and Premium members: complimentary stand on a first come first served basis.

Having a range of companies in attendance from infrastructure managers and contractors, to rolling stock,  digital solutions and consultancies etc. attracts a far wider audience than single company events which is why CTP are so keen to repeat the successful formula we developed previously.
