McLaren Applied is pleased to announce that we have secured a significant contract with Deutsche Bahn (DB), a leading transportation company, to provide cutting-edge 5G connectivity solutions for DB’s long-distance, high-speed trains. The five-year agreement, delivered in collaboration with our partner HUBER+SUHNER, entails the provision of connectivity to a range of existing and new fleets of ICE long-distance trains across Germany.
Deutsche Bahn’s decision to entrust McLaren Applied with this transformative project underscores McLaren Applied’s commitment to driving technological advancements in transportation and solidifies its position as a leading provider of innovative solutions in the field of connectivity.
Through this contract, McLaren Applied will be leveraging its expertise in 5G edge technology to deliver a world-class solution that redefines the standard for passenger experience while optimising connectivity for a range of on-train services. Among other products, our F1-inspired Fleet Connect software will be implemented in Deutsche Bahn’s ICE fleets.
The solution is being supplied by McLaren Applied in collaboration with its partner HUBER+SUHNER. While McLaren Applied is responsible for design and engineering, software and services, HUBER+SUHNER is responsible for hardware components. This contract award solidifies a long-standing partnership forged over the last few years between the two companies.
This strategic partnership signifies an important milestone towards realizing our Connected Intelligence vision for the future of transport and is poised to set new standards for connectivity in the railway industry in Europe and beyond.
