What to expect?
In this ERCI webinar, you will learn about norms for signalling trackside equipment.
At European or international level, there is currently no standard that specifies the test requirements for the type testing of trackside railway signalling and telecommunications equipment. This does not allow an appropriate comparison of the tests carried out by different competitors on their trackside equipment. The lack of a specific standard leads manufacturers to use EN 50125-3 as a standard, but its purpose is to define those environmental conditions for railway signalling equipment that are considered normal in operation.
The webinar starts with a presentation by ECM-Progress Rail Italy, based in Pistoia – a brief introduction to the CEN-CENELEC and ISO-IEC standardisation system, an analysis of the state of the art of existing railway standards for trackside equipment and the presentation of the idea of a new standard, currently under development, which will define which and how to perform type tests on equipment. ECM-Progress Rail has been developing solutions and technologies for the safety, control and improvement of railway infrastructure for more than 60 years.
