Story Scotland have won the Rail Infrastructure Award, for the second year running, at the Scottish Civil Engineering Awards for the Ravenscraig WCML Crossing project.
The scheme was up against tough competition but the £11.8m project, delivered on behalf of Network Rail and North Lanarkshire Council, took the prize in recognition of it’s tremendous impact, not just on Scotland’s economy but on Scotland’s people, environment, and community well-being.
John MacArthur, Managing Director, Story Scotland said: “Ravenscraig WCML has been one of the most challenging civil engineering projects that we have ever delivered at Story Contracting, and I am immensely proud of the entire team who have collectively delivered the work successfully whilst embracing the upmost levels of professionalism from day one.
“This award recognition is testament to the collaborative teamwork between Network Rail, North Lanarkshire Council, and our specialist supply chain partners to achieve a major milestone in Scotland’s Railway history whilst making a positive impact on the local community for years to come.”
