DB ESG Awarded Contract for Passenger Information System and Energy Metering Upgrades by Northern Trains

DB ESG, a leading provider of rolling stock engineering solutions, is pleased to announce that Northern Trains Ltd. has awarded the company a contract for the turnkey materials supply and installation service for the passenger information system (PIS) and energy metering (EM) upgrades on their fleet of 16 Class 333 electric multiple units.

DB ESG will manage the installation at Northern Trains’ Skipton Sidings Facility.  Our approach is designed to ramp up the installation process, allowing each unit to be completed in just three days. This efficiency is a testament to our extensive experience in delivering complex turnkey projects for a variety of rail industry stakeholders, including infrastructure owners, train operators, and rolling stock leasers.

Our world-class experts are committed to delivering excellent customer service and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. The installation will be managed by our Projects Services Team utilising DB ESG employees and supported by contract personnel where required. The focus of our installations is to ensure that the requisite skills and experience are in place to safely execute the installation work.

DB ESG will procure and supply 15 ready-to-install train equipment kits, while Northern Trains will provide the kit for the first-in-class installation. The work will commence in February 2025 and should be completed by the end of June 2025.
