- D/Gauge Ltd and Cordel Group PLC have secured a network scanning and clearance software contract with US Railroad owner Genessee and Wyoming (G&W)
- The contract will deliver D/Gauge Rift Software to G&W so that they can better assess their clearances, particularly in the movement of high-and-wide loads.
- The contract marks the continued expansion of D/Gauge into the US and demonstrates the benefits to US railroads and freight carriers of using clearance software.
D/Gauge Ltd (Part of the TÜV Rheinland Group) and Cordel Group PLC (AIM: CRDL) have successfully won another US Railroad contract to revolutionize clearance assessment spanning the Upper Midwest and Great Lake divisions operated by G&W. The contract offers great technical returns for G&W to safely monitor their network and assess the movements of high-and-wide loads.
The software and hardware package will provide scanning and storage of network-wide structure survey data, and the automated calculation and reporting of clearance information for the entire network. Using Cordel’s ‘Cordel Rugged’ solution, the automated, portable capture system will obtain and store data into the ‘Cordel Connect’ – Cordel’s proprietary rail data platform. This dataset will be used for clearance calculations that will assess the viability of larger and unusual load movements.
Colin Johnson, Managing Director of D/Gauge commented: ““We are thrilled to provide this cutting-edge clearance software, which will revolutionize the analysis and investigation of moving high-and-wide loads. Our innovative solution ensures the safe assessment of unique, non-standard revenue-generating freight, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the industry.”
John Davis, CEO of Cordel remarked: “This is another important step for us in the US market and demonstrates the value that we bring to railroads globally.”
