Rail Forum celebrates regional winners for the ERCI Innovation Awards

Rail Forum is thrilled to announce our Regional Round winners for the ERCI Innovation Awards. Organised by the European Railway Clusters Initiative (ERCI), the Awards promote innovative projects, services or products designed to meet the needs of the railway sector in Europe (freight and passengers).

Competing against fellow Rail Forum members to qualify for the European final round, our nominated winners are:

  • Complete Cyber with Vault IoT which addresses cyber security and asset reliability in transportation systems;
  • KeTech Systems with their dynamic real-time connected driver advisory system; and
  • Infinitive Group for their IRRIS Millimetre Wave Radar: Stanchion detection project.

Applicants for the Regional Round needed to demonstrate the appropriate level of Technology Readiness, with judging then scored based on how innovative the solution is, the economic benefits produced, the competitive advantage that the innovation can bring and the positive societal impact, amongst other key factors.

Having succeeded in this stage, Rail Forum’s Regional Round winners will now compete against those from other ERCI Clusters, with jury scoring of the European final round taking place by early August.

Alongside our winners, Rail Forum is also pleased to highlight two further members whose submissions have received Highly Commended: Lucid Communications for their SiteSentinel 2.0 professional site inductions solution and LB Foster for their Inform Mobile Totem which offers up-to-date, accessible and informative information to passengers.

Catherine Appleby, Membership & Engagement Director at Rail Forum said: “This is our first year participating in the ERCI Innovation Awards and we have been delighted by the positive response from members. We are very proud of the variety of innovation that our regional winners Complete Cyber, Ketech Systems and Infintive Group have brought to the Awards and we wish them all the very best of luck, not only in the finals but of course bringing these exciting developments forward for our railways.

“Awards such as these are a vital channel to highlight how innovation can support the continued development of our rail sector, and to ensure rail can fulfil its role of enabling a prosperous economy.”
