Taziker, a multi-disciplinary engineering specialist, has invested in excess of £1 million to establish a brand-new production facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. The investment is designed to support growth through the provision of a two-fold increase in fabrication capacity.
Located at Frontier Park, the new facility will be used for heavy steel fabrication in support of structural steel infrastructure projects across the UK. The facility will also be home to production and manufacturing of FRP Legacy Footbridge projects, as well as providing associated office space for related disciplines.
The new facility has over 100,000-square-foot fabrication capacity, with the ability for overhead cranes to lift up to 80 tonnes. A 40m long bay will also be dedicated to the manufacture of FRP Legacy Footbridge projects. Additionally, the site accommodates a 120m x 40m fully concreted yard space which provides the capability to complete trial erections on site, reducing transportation and labour costs.
At junction 6 of the M65 motorway, Frontier Park is in a prime location in Lancashire, within easy commute of Preston, Leeds and Manchester.
The new facility builds on Taziker’s recent investments in the business after record revenues were announced for the financial year to 31st March 2022. Further progress is also expected to year end 31st March 2023.
Jarrod Hulme, MD Structural Solutions, Taziker said: “After the success Taziker has had over the past three years with regards to our engineering capabilities, it is time to further expand our services so that we can offer more to our clients. Having the ability to fabricate larger, heavier steelwork is imperative to our growth and success within the industry, and the new unit fits our needs perfectly.”
Matt Greenhalgh, MD FRP Products, Taziker said: “Our innovative Legacy Footbridge has had major success over the last year – with being highly commended at the CN Awards; shortlisted for the second time in the CN Specialist Awards; and numerous contracts awarded for installation around the country. The Blackburn facility gives us the ability to mass produce the FRP footbridge and we’ve also invested in the required specialist machinery for the new site too.”
Steve Corcoran, Chief Executive, Taziker said: “This investment into these new premises shows our continued commitment to our engineering capability. I’m delighted that our investors are confident in our future value and are therefore continuing to provide their support in ensuring Taziker can continue to perform at a high level within the industry.”
