AEGIS Engineering Systems and the University of Oviedo (Spain) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the collaboration between the two entities in R&D and Innovation activities as well as training programmes.
The signing of this MOU with the University of Oviedo is a very important step in AEGIS’ Innovation strategy and will also open the Spanish RD&I market for both AEGIS and IKOS.
The University of Oviedo undertakes 80% of the R&D and Innovation activities carried out in Asturias (Spain), and has cutting-edge services and facilities to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the business world.
Mario Ramos Garcia, Head of Innovation at AEGIS says: “Signing this agreement is very satisfactory both for personal and professional reasons. I am looking forward to working with the people in Gijon and Oviedo, and I am very excited to see what will come out of this relationship. They might not be the biggest university, but they have a lot of talent, and Dani is the right person to capitalise on it and foster this relationship.”
Daniel A. Mantaras, Full Professor of Vehicle Engineering at University of Oviedo adds: “I am delighted to sign this agreement between AEGIS and my university. Together we have the opportunity to drive innovation in rail transport, helping to create a sustainable, efficient and safe transport system that benefits society and the environment.”
Mark McCool, Managing Director at AEGIS concludes: “This MOU is an important step in the AEGIS strategy to collaborate with the leading rail research academic institutions and industry organisations to accelerate the introduction of new products and services to the global rail market.”
