Engineering services group Segula Technologies has announced two new additions to its team.
Catherine Tyndyke has recently joined the company as its UK-based business manager, while Kai Ditchfield has been welcomed as its UK chief engineer for rail.
Catherine joins with eight years’ rail experience working in project management, quality, configuration control, and service introduction roles. She will be responsible for supporting and driving the growth of Segula’s rail and automotive division within the UK. This includes a mix of winning and managing large scale work packages and projects.
During her time in rail, Catherine has built a strong network of industry friends within a leading rolling stock manufacturer, supporting vehicles into service. She has since managed multiple rail projects commercially throughout their lifecycle.
Catherine commented on her appointment: “This is an exciting move for me – there is huge potential for personal growth in expanding my knowledge, expertise, and network within other engineering sectors, alongside rail. I also have the opportunity to grow our rail account footprint here in the UK with customers I’ve not previously worked with. Since joining Segula, I have become a Women in Rail member – an organisation I feel very passionate towards. This is a fantastic chance to develop my network and learn from other women within the industry, along with positioning rail as an attractive career choice to improve diversity.
Kai has around 10 years’ experience predominantly in the rail industry, specialising in traction and rolling stock upgrades and enhancements. He has been responsible for large engineering teams and rolling stock portfolios for on-board designs and integrations.
Kai is very familiar with managing the different aspects of engineering and design, managing technical, project, and commercial risk, and the full design process. He will be responsible for rail engineering within the UK at Segula Technologies and will be fundamental in growing an independent engineering and design capability within the UK rail market.
He commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for me – there is an enormous potential for me to apply my ‘know how’ of rolling stock, engineering and design, building & mentoring teams, adopting and applying best practices. And, investing in the full product lifecycle, in order to provide SEGULA Technologies with a technical front office, within the UK.”
SEGULA Technologies is an engineering services group with 1500 engineers specialising in rail and freight transport across 10 countries, and offering expert services across rail development, signalling, and developing high quality systems, technologies, and engineering services.
