Tecforce has announced that Paul Townsend has joined Tecforce in the role of Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) and will lead the welding department. He will continue to work closely with Richard Banton (Engineering Director) in the development of proposals and the execution of complex, structural repairs, and First in Class (FiC) modifications.
Paul had been a Principal Consultant with Mott MacDonald since 2004 and has, through them, been engaged by numerous ROSCO’s and TOC’s to support them in how best to achieve demanding weld repairs. He accepted the role of RWC at Tecforce in 2017 as one of his Mott MacDonald assignments. His support in 2019 led to Tecforce achieving EN 15085-2 accreditation in a large number of materials and welding processes. Tecforce were among the first UK companies to achieve this accreditation.
With a desire to reduce his working week and, as a phased reduction towards retirement, Paul has chosen to transfer to Tecforce operating on a flexible, part-time basis.
Mott MacDonald and Tecforce have collaborated on numerous projects which require Motts’ capabilities in structural assessment and knowledge of rolling stock, and it is intended that this strategic relationship continues, with Paul an integral component. The switch from Mott MacDonald to Tecforce, therefore, provides a seamless transfer for the support of existing customers of Tecforce.
