Following the annual election process the Rail Forum is delighted to confirm some important new appointments to the Board.
Elaine Clark CEO, Rail Forum said; “As a not for profit association governed by our members we are very proud of our annual election process offering the opportunity for all our members to have a say on the make-up of their Board. We are delighted to welcome Mike Hulme (Alstom), Nick Andrew (CWE), Will Rogers (East Midlands Railway), Chris Wright (Nottingham Tram1) and Tom Meacock (SNC Lavalin Atkins) to the Board.
These appointments further strengthen our Board and the level of interest and calibre of candidates demonstrates the importance our members place on their Rail Forum membership. This year also sees the retirement of the Rail Forum’s existing Chair, Paul Robinson who has served on the Board for 3.5 years. Paul is succeeded by Will Rogers, Managing Director, East Midlands Railway.
Paul has provided fantastic leadership to the Board, and support to the team, over the last few years and we wish him all the very best for his retirement. Looking forward to what will be a time of significant change for our industry, Will brings a wealth of knowledge together with a deep understanding of the political landscape in which we are all operating and I am very much looking forward to working with him and all our Board as we navigate the next few years.”

Will Rogers, Managing Director, East Midlands Railway said; ” I am very pleased to have been elected to the Rail Forum Board. Mike Hulme, Site Managing Director, Alstom said; ” I am delighted to have been elected to the Rail Forum Board, and look forward to working with the group to promote and develop a UK and Regional world class rail supply base”.
Nick Andrew, Managing Director, CWE commented; “Being appointed to the Rail Forum Board of Directors is a real honour, and I am looking forward to working with the team to drive progress in the rail sector. Rail – and particularly rail freight – is an industry that I am hugely passionate about, so I particularly want to champion its role as the backbone of the UK economy. I am also particularly interested in working with the Rail Forum to help address the skills gap that is now a major issue for our industry. Promoting our sector as exciting and dynamic is something that all stakeholders in the sector can play a role in, and one that I am keen to be involved with”.
Tom Meacock, Rail Consulting Practice Director, Atkins added; ” I’m honoured by the opportunity to join the Rail Forum board and look forward to supporting our members during this time of unprecedented change in the sector. There is so much happening in the sector, from establishment of GBR, rail reform and cost efficiency challenges to decarbonisation and digitisation of our economy, all of which reinforces the importance of the work that the Rail Forum does to champion the sector with Government and support those working in rail navigate these changes for the better.
Chris Wright, Managing Director designate of Keolis Nottingham Trams said; “I’m delighted to have been elected to the board, enabling me to continue to work with, and support the Rail Forum. In particular, I look forward to enhancing our members’ understanding and connections within the Light Rail sector of our industry.”
