It’s been a very busy few months for Fenix Rail Systems as they are proud to have been awarded another two major train facility contracts.
The Tie-FenLock control system has been selected for two prestigious intermodal facilities, the first of which is an extension to the existing DIRFT project (DIRFT III) where the new digital system will be designed to work hand in hand with the existing 1980s relay interlocking, using the existing clamp lock point machines.
Craig Purcell Fenix CEO said, “this project is one we are most excited to be involved in, as it proves our systems are equally applicable to modification, as well as new train facilities.”
Our thanks go out to our clients Winvic and the team from ProLogis and Malcom Group for bringing this opportunity to the table. The project is expected to be completed within the next 12 months and includes design, installation, testing and commissioning, all of which will form part of the Fenix scope.
The second project award is Northampton Gateway this is a brand-new facility, a large-scale logistics park which is located adjacent to J15 of the M1 with a strategic rail freight interchange (SRFI), that has been designated for SEGRO and delivered by our clients Winvic.
The Logistics Park Northampton is of up to 5 million square feet of distribution buildings. Fenix have been selected to provide a state-of-the-art digital control system to facilitate train automation within the facility. The proposed system will bring simplicity to what would ordinarily be a complex operation, again the digital control system will provide a safe operational environment with maximum flexibility and dependability.
