Diamond Rail Services and Grinsty Rail have joined forces to combat Service Quality rectification with South Western Railway on their 455 fleet at Wimbledon Depot. Diamond Rail Services Front of House is going from strength to strength and their latest project with SWR is on their 455 fleet. The largest impact to Customer Experience being the seat base condition.
Diamond complete their audit and identify the seats that would fail new challenging Service Quality criteria. Following the audit the rectification is completed by changing seat base covers and vastly improving the ambience on board.
The 455 fleet is one of the largest in the UK and the programme is challenging. Diamond required help, and who better than likeminded, Rail Forum Midland member Grinsty Rail. The introductions were made and scope defined.
Matt Perry Parker, Managing Director at Grinsty said “You’ve all heard the phrase, no “I” in Team, well that’s the philosophy that we like to work with here at Grinsty Rail, by offering solutions to issues that people have not just in the rail sector, but in a plethora of sectors. Jenny had recently joined Diamond as their Business Development head, so we met up over a coffee to have a chat about what they did and was there anywhere we (Grinsty Rail) could help, be it via resource or by any other works. We have a common ally in Camira Fabrics who we both use, and then just let the process find its own way”.
Jenny Dempsey, Business Development Director at Diamond added “It is great working with Grinsty, not only are they another North of England supplier, but their values are also very similar to our own. Working with likeminded businesses means we can expand our service offering and bring the very best experience as one package. The customer is our focus with every project we complete!”
The common mindset that both companies are more than happy to help fellow sector colleagues where they can has been the highlight of the collaboration, sharing a vast array of experience and expertise. The working relationship continues to grow with another project underway and given the positive reaction from both Diamond, Grinsty and their customers, hopefully this can lead to further collaborations on future projects.
