Tamworth based HVAC manufacturing company, Elite KL, have had a fantastic start to 2021 with the receipt of a significant order from Stadler Rail in Switzerland.
Stadler Rheintal AG based in St. Margrethen in Switzerland chooses UK based Elite KL to supply cab and saloon air conditioning solutions to Stadler for the Tyne and Wear Metro project in the UK.
Stadler Tyne & Wear Metro Project
The HVAC Units will be designed, assembled and supported from Elite KL’s facility in Tamworth with delivery to Stadler’s facility in St. Margrethen, Switzerland, commencing in November 2021 and in production until 2024.
The Stadler Tyne and Wear Metro project consists of the design and manufacture of 42 units in a 5-car configuration.
Each car will install one HVAC unit installed on the roof to provide dedicated air conditioning for the passenger saloon. Driving cars will have a dedicated HVAC installed on the roof for the driver´s cab.

The vehicle is for operation in the UK by Nexus within the Tyne and Wear network.
Elite KL are in discussions to support Stadler and the fleet operator with a future spares and service contract.
