Members should be aware that HS2 have now released the ITT for the procurement of the first tranche of trains for the new network.
HS2 are looking for a supplier to design, build, test and maintain at least 54 world-class, high-speed trains. The shortlisted bidders, outlined below, now have 6 months to submit a tender:
· Alstom Transport;
· Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd in a JV partnership with Hitachi Rail Europe;
· Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF),
· Patentes Talgo S.L.U.
· Siemens PLC.
As part of Hs2’s commitment to transparency, and following feedback from the supply chain, they have also released the Train Technical Specification (TTS) to ensure visibility for interested supply chain organisations. While this document is targeted at tier 1 rolling stock suppliers, its content should enable interested supply chain organisations to identify potential opportunities for the supply of equipment and services to those tier 1 suppliers. Please note this document supersedes the previously published Pre-Qualification Technical Summary (PQTS).
