Derby based Garrandale Group have successfully expanded into Australia following its completion of a contract with the country’s biggest public transport project, Sydney Metro.
Operating as Garrandale Australia, they were awarded a contract to design and manufacture a “sophisticated, automatic water-recycling carriage wash system” as part of a project worth AU$8.3bn for Sydney Metro.
With services expected to start in the first half of 2019, these self-washing trains will operate on the first stage of the Sydney Metro.
Tim Brown, Garrandale managing director, has expressed that they are looking to expand their international presence, with a long-term plan that 50% of business will be overseas in three years’ time.
