LORAM, Maintenance of the Way Inc., (LORAM) today confirmed the appointment of Richard Kelly as Managing Director, Loram UK Ltd.Richard has been tasked with growing Loram UK’s profitable business with existing and future customers.
Loram UK, based in Derby at the heart of the rail industry, provides rolling stock and rail head treatment services to a range of customers including: Network Rail, Roscos, TOCs, FOCs and a range of specialist engineering companies.
Loram UK’s parent company ‘Loram, Maintenance of the Way Inc.” is currently delivering three, state of the art, Rail Grinders for use across Network Rail’s infrastructure. Loram’s C44 rail grinders will enable NR Routes to safely and effectively manage rail head quality, ensuring a more efficient use of NR assets delivering benefits to both passengers and freight customers.
Loram UK is also about to begin operating non-passenger services across Britain’s railway network.

Richard, joins the railway from the power sector, where over 38 years in both operational and engineering environments he has specialised in customer service, project engineering, operations management, and business development. Most recently Richard was the Managing Director – Rotating Plant at GE Power Service.
Richard is married with an adult family of two, and lives in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Outside of work he is passionate about motorcycle touring and classic/vintage vehicle restoration.
