HS2 Supply Chain Engagement
On April 17th Michelle Faulkner and David Taylor of the DDRF Executive Board attended a Supply Chain Engagement Event hosted by HS2 at the Roundhouse, Derby. The event covered all aspects of supply and was focused on both Infrastructure and Rolling stock.
It proved very interesting in particular how keen HS2 are to engage with the whole supply chain very early. This is not just for the large `Prime` contractors but for the SMEs and HS2 are not looking at just Tier 1 suppliers but Tiers 2,3,4 & beyond. The headline for SME members to note is HS2`s intention that the prime contractors, delivering HS2, will have a contractual requirement to engage with HS2 registered suppliers so it is very important to all members of the DDRF to take a short amount of time and ensure you are registered through `Compete for`.

HS2 are planning to hold a Supply Chain Conference in the Autumn of 2014 and we will advise you of the details as we get them. The DDRF have also entered into talks with HS2 over holding a summer HS2 specific event and details of this are to be confirmed.
